Knowing How To Network & Extend Contacts

I know someone who has been in business with his own companies and for many years he worked from home.  One of the huge army of back bedroom entrenpreneurs – except this chap was a financial advisor and computer/web design geek.  Two completely separate streams of income, which twenty five years ago were easily achieved from home if you had the nouce to neetwork effectively.  He didn’t just sit there hoping for the calls  to come, he actively sought business links by attending conferences, public meetings, university seminars etc.  Getting your name out there is critical, as is having a decent and workable business model which can take the ups and downs of this slightly nomadic life.  You need to be able to work out how much time you can spend on someone’s business in relation to how much on others’.  All this needs practice, charm and effective communication.
